Ellie Jane Goulding born 30th December, 1986 in Hereford England. Her mother Tracey Goulding-Summers was employed at an ice cream shop and the father Arthur Goulding was a member of the family known as an undertaker. Goulding is the child of two with a brother called Alex as well as an older sister called Isabel and a second sister known as Jordan. Alex is her brother, and she plays the bass with the Hereford group. Her mother inspired her to study musical pursuits as a kid. At nine, she began learning to play the clarinet. By the time she reached 14 years old, she started writing songs. However, she did not begin pursuing songwriting until her college years. Goulding became attracted to electronic music during the time she studied. She met Frankmusik who was a producer of records through MySpace. With Frankmusik's help, she created her own folktronica style. Jamie Lillywhite noticed her and was her manager. Then, he took on the role as A.&R in a talent contest. Lillywhite connected her with the musician Starsmith. Starsmith helped in November 2009 to publish Under the Sheets the debut single by her. Starsmith worked alongside the singer on Lights. While the album was released under the Sheets through the independent label Neon Gold Records, she was signed already by Polydor Records.
