Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland is an actress and model. Her first feature film appearance was in a minor role on The James Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). Later she played the Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and in the Last Crusade 1989). Siobhan in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Doody was invited by a photographer, and started to model. Doody then began to build an industry-wide career in commercial modeling. Doody was extremely determined not to do glamour or nude work. This rule extended into the acting profession. When she was spotted by the casting director for a James Bond movie, she participated in A View to a Kill as Jenny Flex. Doody was listed as one of 12 Promising New Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody is only 18 at the time she portrayed Doody in the movie A prayer for the dying (1987), starring Mickey Rourke. Doody is the youngest Bond girl who has a name to her. Another film from her early days played a tiny part in the film as IRA member Siobhan Donovan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she was a film starring Mickey Rourke. Doody had an unspoken role as the wife of Archibald Craven Lilias when she appeared in his film of a dream, the 1987 adaptation to The Secret Garden. The Storyteller episode from 1988 featured her in the lead character of Sapsorrow, alongside John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The actress starred alongside Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Elsa Schneider, an Austrian Nazi sympathizer and an archaeologist for forensics in the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It also featured Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody was a part of three actors in the role of James Bond. Doody was a part of Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries which was a British mini-series based on Hitler Diaries. Later, she relocated to Hollywood. Chosen to replace Cybill Shepherd as spokesperson for L'Oreal she was later chosen to perform alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery the agent's girlfriend. After nearly a decade from screen Doody was back in the acting world by playing a minor role in the 2003's British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine acting as herself in an event scene for the award ceremony. Doody was a co-star, along with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. Doody recorded a part in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture. She was also to be the main character for The Asphyx remake, but that project fell through. The actress began her two seasons of the E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson.
